The River Falls High School Mock Trial team captured first place in their regional competition on February 9, 2013. Students perform as attorneys and witnesses on both sides of case. This year’s case involved criminal charges of attempted homicide arising from a shooting.
Student teams from a variety of schools are judged by local attorneys and judges. By taking first place in the region, River Falls advances to the state competition in Madison, Wisconsin in March. The Wisconsin State Bar sponsors high school mock trial.
Attorney coaches for the River Falls team include Brian Laule, Robert Parsons and Tracy Tool of the law firm Bye, Goff & Rohde, Ltd. River Falls also won its regional competition in 2012.
